Mantle

One file, no install. It pulls the latest Mantle every time it opens.

Switch to custom DNS

  1. Open Settings → Wi-Fi → Known Networks.

  2. Select a network.

  3. Dropdown the Network option.

  4. Click Name servers → Custom name servers.

  5. Fill the four fields (tap a value to select it):

    DNS 166.23.198.252 DNS 266.94.105.229 DNS 30.0.0.0 DNS 40.0.0.0

  6. Repeat steps 3–5 on all other networks.

  7. Restart your Chromebook to clear cached blocked websites.

  8. You're set — jump back up and hit Download to grab the launcher file.

  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi.

  2. Click your connected network. On Windows 11 open Hardware properties; on Windows 10 open the network's Properties.

  3. Next to DNS server assignment, click Edit.

  4. Set the dropdown to Manual and toggle IPv4 On. (Leave IPv6 off.)

  5. Fill the fields (tap a value to select it):

    Preferred66.23.198.252 Alternate66.94.105.229 DNS 30.0.0.0 DNS 40.0.0.0

  6. Click Save, then repeat for every Wi-Fi network you use — and Ethernet too if you ever dock (Ethernet → the adapter → same DNS edit).

  7. Restart the PC — this clears Windows' DNS cache, so no commands are needed.

  8. You're set — jump back up and hit Download to grab the launcher file.

Before you rely on this

Most important

Lightspeed keeps a cache for two weeks of blocked websites. Simply use the DNS for more than two weeks.

This does NOT work on filters such as ContentKeeper, iboss, most Cisco configurations, or Fortiguard. They are network level.

If you're already using this method, continue to do so, and DO NOT connect to a Wi-Fi network without it, otherwise your extensions may update and be patched.

Chromebook: this can break locked mode quizzes. To fix them: revert the DNS → reboot → go to chrome://policy and press "refresh policies". If that does not work, disable DNS → remove user → add user back.

Windows: while the custom DNS is on, school-internal things can stop resolving — printing, file shares, and lockdown apps like Respondus LockDown Browser or Safe Exam Browser. Revert the DNS and reboot before any exam that uses one, and again afterwards.
